FAQs on Member Updates

The following FAQs will serve as a recap of these changes:

Q: As a new Member, do I still pay a monthly subscription fee?
A: No. Elite Members will continue to pay a monthly subscription fee, but Members will never have to pay a monthly subscription fee again. Instead, Members now pay an annual subscription fee. Normally, this fee is $120, but we are slashing that price down to a $79 discount for Cyber Monday. Being that our Member enrollment fee and monthly fees used to total $290, this is a savings of $211!

If you happen to miss out on the Cyber Monday deal today, we'll be offering a $99 annual fee discount as of December 1. This is just one of the holiday promotions we'll be running to help you build your member base.

Q: If I’ve been a member since July, will I be charged a new annual subscription fee?
A: No. All existing members will be grandfathered in to our new payment structure for Members. Existing Members won’t expect to pay any more monthly fees, EVER. They will not be required to pay the 2015 annual $120 fee either. Accounts for existing Members have already been set up and there is no need to make any charges until around this time next year. For those members who started in July-October, this means you're getting an extra few months on us!

Q: So, as an existing Member, when would I expect to see a new charge?
A: A year from now, existing Members will have a renewal fee that’s due on November 25, 2016. A reminder will be sent to each Member before the payment is made and they will have an opportunity at that point to renew for another year. If a Member decides to cancel on November 22, 2016, for instance, they would not be billed anything. But we’re confident that our Members will happily want to renew their memberships at that time after experiencing the perks of being a HopRocket Member for a full year from now.

Q: Is there anything I need to do in my Back Office to stop the monthly payments?
A: No. We’ve already made changes to Member accounts so that no more monthly payments are taken. Again, no additional charges will be made on Member accounts until the annual renewal fee is due in November of 2016.

Q: With the new enhancements, can I still participate in the “3 & Free” program as a Member?
A: The “3 & Free” will only be available to Elite Members because only Elite Members will have a monthly subscription. The purpose of the “3 & Free” is to have one’s monthly subscription waived. Since Members no longer pay a monthly subscription, there is no reason for a Member to participate in the “3 & Free” program. However, Members will be thrilled to hear about the new “Member Bonus” program.

Q: What is the new Member Bonus program?
A: When an Elite Member or Member signs up a new Member, a $25 bonus is awarded! Elite Members receive this bonus in cash while Members receive this bonus in Rocket Rewards. The best thing about this enhancement is that it’s $25 per new sign up, not a combination of three people. The Member Bonus is paid out to the sponsoring Elite Member or Member on the week following the new Member enrollment.

Q: So, as a Member, I can now earn and use Rocket Rewards?
A: Yes, you can begin building your Rocket Rewards savings account now. There are two ways Rocket Rewards can be earned by a Member. One way is through the Member Bonus that was just mentioned, $25 in Rocket Rewards for each new Member sign-up. The second way is through the Price Match Guarantee that is available to Members. If a Member books travel through HopRocket and finds a cheaper price through another service later that day, HopRocket will pay the difference in price to the Member in Rocket Rewards*. We'll be announcing some fun and exciting ways for Members to actually use their Rocket Rewards over the next 30 days. Starting in 2016, Rocket Rewards can be used by a Member to book any kind of travel. But remember, the full reservation must be made using Rocket Rewards. It’s amazing how quickly they can add up when you’re signing up new Members on a regular basis.

Q: Speaking of HopPoints, can I continue to earn those as a Member?
A: No. HopPoints can only be earned by Elite Members. However, Members can still browse and book HopTrips. They just won’t have HopPoints to apply to the price.

Q: But what about the HopPoints I’ve already earned? Can I still use them?
A: Of course! All Members who have earned HopPoints up until now will keep them and they can be used on HopTrips for the next year. They will expire on December 31, 2016. When you are ready to apply the existing HopPoints you’ve earned, simply contact our Customer Service team and they will help you with that booking. Their phone number is at the bottom of this email.

Q: Can I still upgrade my membership to Elite Member status?
A: Yes, you can upgrade at any time.
